- The exposition in the story is when we get introduced to George and Hazel, and their son had just been sent to prison. The setting of this scene is they are in their living room watching television. We also become aware that there is such things as handicaps the government put on people to make them equal. This factor shows in the story when it states,"And George, while his intelligence was way above normal, had a little mental handicap radio in his ear."
