Romeo realizes that he cannot return home after leaving the Capulet party. Instead, he must go search for Juliet. He climbs a wall that goes past the Capulet property and leaps into the Capulet orchard. Benvolio and Mercutio enter, shouting Romeo's name.

Mercutio mocks Romeo's love for Rosaline in an unpleasant monologue, angry and amused.
Still, in search of Romeo, Mercutio and Benvolio decide Romeo is no where to be seen.
They eventually come to a conclusion that Romeo does not want to be found so they end up leaving.
