- Hey Tasha. Do you want to play catch with me?
- Sure, Austin.
- Tasha, go long!
- Austin wants to play a game of catch with Tasha.
- They move away from each other so the ball will go a longer distance.
- When Austin throws the ball, there is a reaction and action force. One force acts on the ball, the other acts on Austin's hand.
- Action and reaction forces do not cancel eachother out. The forces are equal strength but opposite direction.
- When Tasha catches the ball, the same two forces act upon her. One force pushes against her hand, the other force pushes against the ball.
- Thanks to Newton's third law of motion, Tasha and Austin can play a fun game of catch.
