Storyboard Text
- Once, Theseus, who was the son of Aegeus, king of Athens, asked his father why every 9 years, they sent 7 young men and 7 young women to Crete and why these people never returned. His father explained to him, how they must sacrifice these victims to be fed to the minotaur otherwise a war would start. Prince Theseus wanted to change this so he goes to Crete himself. Before he leaves, he promises his father he will return to Athens alive and make him proud. The sceptical and worried father does agree to let Theseus go, he says "If you are successful replace the black sails with white ones". Theseus promises.
- Powerful King Minos, who was feared by many, had a labyrinth created (made by Daedalus) underneath his palace. In the labyrinth a minotaur was kept, a savage creature, half bull, half man. The monstrous beast was fed human flesh every 9 years, when people were forced in to the inescapable maze.
- Theseus wanted to go and save everyone from the monstrous tyrant. When he arrives in Minos' palace in Crete, the King humiliates and tries to scare the victims before they go into the labyrinth.Theseus bravely volunteers to go first.

- The guards taunted Theseus but Ariadne, the king's daughter, saw him and immediately feel in love with him. She wanted to help him so when left alone, she gave him a sharp sword to kill the minotaur and some string so he could find his way back to safety. He told Ariadne he will return. Then, Theseus entered the labyrinth...
- Theseus walked through the labyrinth, it was dark and cold. He found the minotaur and the fight began. They fought and Theseus killed the minotaur, it fell to the floor. Theseus had saved Athens! He came back to Ariadne using the string and they ran away together before King Minos realised.
- On the way however, Theseus abandoned Ariadne on the island of Naxos. Ariadne then cursed Theseus. As he rushed to escape Ariadne, Theseus forgot to change the sails and his father, after seeing the ship, regretted his decision and threw himself off the cliff in grief (committed suicide). Theseus mourned his father and became King.
