- Bod (Nobody Owens) has lived in the graveyard for as long as he can remember. His family was killed when he was a baby. Lucky for Bod a vampire,Silas, adopted him and swore to protect him since the person who killed his parents is still looking for him to kill as well. In order to protect him, Bod had never left the graveyard. Bod has special powers that allow him to talk to the dead and other monsters that live in the graveyard. The ghosts have taught him special skills like the ability to fade into the background.
- Climax
- ITS JACK!!!
- Although Bod was happy in the graveyard, he started to want more. He wanted to go to school to learn and he also wanted to find out who killed his family and get revenge. Silas finally agreed to let Bod go to school as long as he didn't attract attention. By standing up to some bullies, he realized this was a hard thing to do. Bod almost got himself in a bad situation when one of the bullies, Mo, had him arrested by her uncle.
- Falling Action

- After this scare, Bod quits school and decides to look for the man who killed his father. He ran into a childhood human friend, Scarlett, who said she would help him find the killer. Scarlett visited the graveyard with the help of the man she had just met, Mr. Frost. Bod didn't know much about the killer other than his hair color and his name was Jack. When Scarlett looked up his family's old address, she realized Mr. Frost was living there now. When she told this to Mr. Frost he invited her and her friend (Bod) over.
- Resolution
- After letting them in, Mr. Frost suggests that just Bod come to see what he found on his own. On the way upstairs, Mr. Frost asks if Bod was the baby that was never found. Then Bod says yes and tells him what he knows about the killer. After this Mr. Frost pulled a knife out of the floor and says he was the killer and he's going to kill Bod now. Bod runs, and as him and Scarlett leave the house, several other men approach and start to follow them.
- Bod leads them all to a graveyard and hides Scarlett in a safe place. Using tricks he learned from his ghost friends, he defeats all the other men, but he later finds out they are known as the Jacks. He runs to find Jack who knows will be with Scarlett. Jack admits they were always trying to kill Bod because there was a prophecy that if the boy who could go between the living and the dead lived, he would end the order of the Jacks forever. Bod tricks Jack and with the help of a monster in the graveyard, the sleer, defeats him as well. Bod is finally safe!!

- After defeating the order of Jacks, Bod starts to realize his powers to talk to and act like a ghost are dissiapearing. Silas gives him a passport and money and tells him it's time to start living his life with real humans, not ghosts. Bod is very sad when he has to say goodbye to the ghosts who were his family, but he is excited to explore the world more.
