wearing gloves, holding a sponge, smiling): “Okay, Mom! The chicken’s in the fridge, the knife is put away safely, and the milk is back where it belongs. I even cleaned up the floor.”

In Scene One: There are many kitchen safety and sanitation hazards. Leaving raw chicken out can cause foodborne illness, and the knife in the sink is a serious cut risk. Spilled mop water, a hot stove, and even a cat on the counter add up to a disaster waiting to happen.
In Scene Two: The kitchen is now safe and sanitary. Food is stored correctly, knives are put away safely, and the cooking area is clean. Taking time to clean up and follow food safety rules prevents accidents and keeps everyone healthy.
