  • Let us work together!
  • Christian IX, the king of Denmark, proposed a joint constitution for Schleswig and Holstein, a region between Prussia and Denmark, in 1863. This was a violation of a previous treaty and angered both Prussia and Austria. In order to defeat Christian IX and gain the Schleswig-Holstein region, Austria and Prussia work together to fight against Denmark in the Second Schleswig War. The two German states won in 1864, gaining the Schleswig-Holstein region as a joint Austro-Prussian possession.
  • Only this one time Bismark. Do not forget we are enemies.
  • The Austro-Prussian War, also known as the 7 Weeks' War, was fought in 1866 between Prussian and Austria and their allies. The war only lasted 7 weeks, both sides using various new technology to aid them. One of the most famous battles was the Battle of Koningratz where the outcome was decided in Prussia's victory against Austria. The war resulted in Prussia winning, giving them control over Germany and excluding Austria in the new North German Confederation.
  • We will not let these Austrians win!! Let us fight!!
  • In 1870, Otto Von Bismarck published an altered version of a telegram describing a meeting between the Prussian King and French ambassador. The altered document paints the French in a bad light and publicly humiliates the French, making it look like he was disrespectful to the King. This was seen as the immediate cause of the Franco -Prussian war of 1870, as it sparked bad feelings between the citizens of France and Prussia.
  • How dare those French disrespect our King like this!
  • The War lasted from 1870 to 1871 and resulted in Prussia's victory. The war was a tool used by Bismarck to unite Germany against a common enemy.
  • Those French have gone too far this time. They must pay!
