Air Quality in Utah
Every time we drive a car, we emit carbon dioxide into our atmosphere. Every time a new home is built it damages our environment, " The construction sector accounts for 37% of global greenhouse gas emissions." (UNEP, 2026). In order to have the room to build new homes, trees have been cut down. Deforestation is an issue because it helps decrease a huge amount of carbon dioxide that would enter our atmosphere.
The air quality in Utah has always bee a problem. "Clean air is a top concern across Utah, from the Uinta Basin to the Wasatch Front and our National Parks. Growing development and population affect air quality throughout the state, presenting air pollution challenges year-round." (Clean Air-HEAL Utah, 2023). Our air quality comes from a variety of things. Some top things being: our transit, building of new homes, cutting down our trees, etc. There are so many things that we could be doing to prevent this from being an issue this big.
Things you can do to help:-Limit car usage, use public transport or carpool!-Sign petitions to help decrease deforestation
