In "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street' by Rod Serling one of the main themes is violence doesn't solve problems. I chose to pick the theme violence doesn't solve problems because they were being violent towards each other a lot over little things. Their violence was causing them to get mad at each other. They all got mad because they didn't know who or what started the car. All of this caused a fued. They all discussed they should stop of it will lead to bigger problems. Woman one says she seen suspicious activity from Goodman she states," Well sometimes I go to bed late at night and a couple of times I'd come out on the porch and i'd see Mr. Goodman here in the wee hours of the morning standing out in front of his house looking up at the sky" page 77. This shows they were all accusing Goodman for his suspicious activity and trying to find examples. In conclusion the arguments were clearly leading to finding out big things which soon led to bigger problems that eventually led to Tim dying.
