Climax
Finally decided to come back?

Covey managed to break his soul, spirit, and body. Douglass no longer dreams of escaping and even thinks of taking his life. Slavery transformed him.
Resolution
I know I will fight back now! I wont stand back down! I'm one step closer to being free!
One day Douglass falls really sick and when Mr. Covey finds him and he beats him, so he runs away. He found another slave and asked him what to do, and he said to go back.
You must go back...
After Douglass returns, Covey tackles him in the loft and Douglass fights back.
Once Douglass fought back, he regained his sense of humanity, hope, and independence. He was never fully enslaved again.
