- Martin Luther was born on the 10th of November 1483 in Eisleben, he lived there for one year before moving to Mansfield where he lived for 13 years, after he to Magdeburg, he stayed there for one year, then moved to Eisenach where he lived for 3 years before moving back to the place of his birth. Martin Luther returned to Eisleben where he studied grammar, rhetoric, and logic at the University of Erfurt.

- Martin Luther's writings were responsible for the splitting of the Catholic Church and sparking the Protestant Reformation this started by him hammering the 95 theses on the door of the church. The Protestant Reformation began in Wittenberg, Germany on October 31st, 1517 when Martin Luther published a document called the 95 theses.

- Martin Luther had seen how the church had become corrupt in its practices as people had to pay forgiveness known as indulgences. Martin Luther knew that the only way for forgiveness was by faith and dedication to God alone, and by doing this you will go to heaven.

- The Catholic Church realized their actions were unjust, and they decided to resolve their corruption by initiating the counter-reformation. They made a council of Trent where they would change their wrongdoings. They decided to stop indulgences and follow some of Martin Luther's 95 theses.
