Nancy listens to Monk and Fagin conspiring against Oliver and decides to tell Rose what she discovered: Monk is Oliver's half-brother and wants to get rid of him so he can keep his millionaire father's inheritance.
The Oliver's Heritage
Mr. Brownlow returns from the East Indies, and Rose tells him about Monks' true identity. They meet again with Nancy, who tells them how to find Monks. Fagin suspects Nancy and sends someone to spy on the meeting. When Sikes finds out about Nancy's actions he kills her in a fit of rage.
The end of the gang
Monks admit to Brownlow his actions against Oliver. His real name is Edward Leeford and his mother burned his father's will to disinherit her husband's mistress and her son.
Happy Ending
Under pressure from Mr. Brownlow, Eduard testify under oath about how he tried to get rid of Oliver, agreeing to share his inheritance with the boy. However, Edward leaves for America and ends up in prison there and then dies.
Fagin is arrested and sentenced to hang. Before dying, he reveals to Oliver the location of the child's identity documents: they are in a bag hidden in a hole in his fireplace.
Finally, Mr. Brownlow can adopt Oliver and they go to live peacefully in a house in the country near the Maylies.
