- Laertes is about to depart for France and offers Ophelia advice about her relationship with Hamlet. He warns her to be cautious and not to give in to Hamlet’s advances, suggesting that Hamlet might not be sincere in his affections because of his royal responsibilities.Ophelia responds, expressing her love and respect for her brother's advice but shows concern for Hamlet's sincerity.
