Arachne

Arachne, a maiden famous through out Greece for her work at the loom. Many claim Athena must have taught her to weave wonderful patters into the fabric herself. Arachne protests that she got her skills herself and is on par with the gods, she is then 'lectured' by a lady in the village that she shouldn't claim to be on par with the gods, which Arachne pays no mind to. Her ignorance doesn't have positive affects.
Storyboard Text
- "Surely Athena must have taught her."
- "Who else could know the secret of such marvelous skill?"
- Arachne was proud of the skill that had brought so many to her. But it displeased her greatly that it was believed a goddess could teach her anything.
- "Nor if I had , would I give Athena credit because the girl was more skillful than I."
- "With my own two hands I gained this skill, and by hard practice from early morning to night."
- "If Athena herself were to come down and compete with me, she could do no better than I."
- "How dare you claim to be equal to the immortal gods themselves!"
- "Stupid old woman. If Athena resents my words, let her answer them herself."
