One sunny afternoon, Sarah and Ben decide to play some mini golf in their backyard. Newton's 1st law states that objects in motion will stay in motion unless unless acted upon by an external force. Ben hits the golf ball with his club and it starts to move. It continues moving, but then eventually stops due to the friction caused by the grassy and bumpy surface. Unfortunately, Ben does not get a hole-in-one.

Ben gets really frustrated so he decides to use a bowling ball instead of a golf ball, hoping that that might give him an advantage. However, Sarah continues to use a golf ball. Newton's 2nd law states that force and mass impact acceleration. Ben and Sarah both hit their balls at the same time with the same amount of force. Sarah's golf ball ends up moving farther than Ben's bowling ball because it has a lighter mass.

Newton's 3rd law states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. When a club hits a golf ball it applies force to the ball and causes it to move. The golf ball applies the same amount of force back to the club and causes it to slow down.
