A Metal is a solid material whose properties are - they are luster, malleable (mercury is a liquid metal), ductile, solid at room temp., they are good conductors for heat and electricity, and has high melting and boiling points.
Metals are natural compounds of earth’s crust, in which they are generally found in the form of metal ores, associated both with each other and with many other elements. They are also naturally present in the rocks washed by surface water and groundwater and in atmospheric dust.
Metals are all around us if you see the electric wires there are composed of copper the cooking vessels in our house is made of steel and so you can see metals are used in various daily chores like cooking or transportation of electricity through metal wires.
Now I hope you are clear with what metals are, what are it's properties and where there found around us.
