Since my childhood, I have been inspired by incredible role models who have dedicated their lives to promoting social justice worldwide.
As a result, I chose to attend a mission-focused high school where I was encouraged to think critically about social and economic injustices and identify ways to make a difference as a leader within my community.
Domestic and international volunteer experiences further exposed me to the issues of global poverty and human rights violations.
But after school, I began a career in consulting and banking. Not only was my work not mission-focused, but as my salary and responsibilities grew, I saw my ability to volunteer to causes I cared about shrink and disappear.
So I left. I took two years to travel and experience the world and get to know the incredible people across it. I volunteered and climbed big mountains and got a chance to learn what life is like across the globe. The conversations, experiences, and interactions I had solidified my desire to dedicate myself professionally to promoting economic and social empowerment.
Upon returning, I sought out and joined a mission-focused company that advises and provides underwriting services for impact lenders. I'm thrilled to be promoting compassionate capitalism in my daily life. And I'm excited to be learning more about social entrepreneurship with all of you!
