- I can finally see my specimens the way they actually are!
- You're naive. You don't actually have direct access to the specimen you study!
- What do you mean?
- Did I hear you say that you don't have direct access to the objects you study?
- That's right. You only have access to phenomena. You can't access the noumena, the world "in itself."
- What I see and taste and touch and feel is self evidently true.
- You're naive. What you see and taste and touch and feel is merely your interpretation of noumena.
- Oh Dear! If you are right, then I guess skepticism is my only option.
- Oh Dear! I didn't mean to turn you into a skeptic.
- Well, I'd rather be a skeptic than a dogmatist, like Him. How does the term "postmodern" sound to you?
