Josef knew what he had to do. He slapped his father across the face. Hard.
His father began to worry that it would be like the roll calls he experienced at Dachau. Josef's mother tried to assure him it wouldn't be like that. Josef's father was lost in his memories.
Josef ran to tell his parents that they'd all have to go through medical examinations.
The doctor came to their row and looked at each person, then moved on. They'd made it.
It's standard procedure. We just have to be approved by the medical authorities first.
