- Chiang Kai-shek and the nationalist attempt to reunite China as a democracy after the end of the Qing dynasty.
- Mao Ze Dong and communists recruit the peasants to form the Red army in order to unite China as a communist country, competing against the nationalist.
- The nationalist wanted to threat communist so over 700,000 troops went and marched
- Japan invaded China. Both the nationalist and the communist had to focus on fighting the Japanese. Japan ended up surrendering at the end of WWII
- China was divided by the nationalist and the communist. Each wanted to take control of the contry
- Mao Zedong decided to five the peasants stuff instead of the rich. So the peasants ended up starving because they didn't know how to help themselves.
