Tybalt challenges Romeo to a duel. Romeo refuses for he's just married Juliet (Tybalt's cousin) an hour ago and does not want to upset her by fighting Tybalt.

What about the Law!
It all ends here today Tybalt. Either you die or we die together!
Mercutio steps in and provokes Tybalt, They begin to fight. Romeo gets in between them and reminds them that there is a law forbidding them from fighting. (The law was made by the prince.)

While Mercutio was distracted by Romeo Tybalt stabs him. Tybalt then fled the scene.
Who started it?!
I ain't no snitch but it was Tybalt, he killed Mercutio and you know Romeo had to get revenge for his man so he killed Tybalt.
Tybalt returns (for some reason) and Romeo wants to get revenge for Mercutio (though he himself indirectly killed him). They fight.
Tybalt is dead and Romeo runs away. Leaving Benvolio at the scene. Civilians inform the prince about the event.
The prince questions Benvolio. Benvolio tells the prince what had happen but fails to mention the fact Mercutio provoked Tybalt. ( lady and lord Capulet are in the scene as well)
