Storyboard Text
- Salt Glands - located just above the bill and between the eyes, used to remove any salt from seawater
- Heavy Sold Bones - allows penguins to stay underwater when swimming.
- Strong Legs With Webbed Feet - used to help streamline and steer while swimming because they are set far back on the body. They also help the bird stand upright.
- Long Thin Bill - used for catching food, preen feathers, and to defend themselves against predators.
- Paddle-Like Flippers - used to propel penguins through the water going up to 20 km per hour.
- Octopuses can camouflage themselves by quickly changing the color of their skin which helps get away from predators and sneak up on prey
- Octopuses' tentacles have suctions cups on them which help the octopus grab its prey
- Some Octopuses use bioluminescence to create light which they can then use to lure prey and scare off predators
- Octopuses shoot an ink cloud in the water to startle, confuse, and get away from predators
- Octopuses can easy squeeze into small crevices, and they quickly propel through the water to escape predators
- Trunk - used to reach food in high branches, allows the elephant to get food and water from the ground, and communication to warn others about potential threats
- Ears - used to cool down elephants. Elephants live in very hot environments so they flap their giant ears to help cool the blood in their capillaries which spreads throughout the body
- Tusks - used to dig into the ground, uncovering salts and other minerals that are necessary for their diets and for other food related purpose
- Bathing - elephants squirt each other with water from their trunks that remove parasites off of their backs that they can't reach
- The elephant's huge size makes it very difficult for predators to attack. Adult elephants are too big to attack by any predator animal
