PCRP - Initial Complaint Process

Now let's take a look at what how the PCRP works.
When a concern is received, the Intake Officer makes sure that it meets all the criteria set out in AVLIC's bylaws. The Intake Officer then counsels the person with the concern about the PCRP process.
If the person with the concern and the responding AVLIC member are willing to engage in an informal approach to conflict resolution, the Intake Officer will facilitate the conversation.
If the person with the concern does not want to engage in an informal approach to conflict resolution, or if the informal approach fails, the Intake Officer files an official complaint. The complaint is referred to the Inquiry Committee.
Once the Inquiry Committee receives a complaint, they review it to make sure the complaint meets all of criteria set out in AVLIC's bylaws. They also decide whether or not to use an independent investigator.
An investigation is conducted.
All information collected during the investigation is reported back to the Inquiry Committee.
The Inquiry Committee considers all of the information presented. They decide is there is enough evidence to proceed further. If there is, they decide which of the 3 conflict resolution pathways is best suited for the case.
