- Plessy was 1/8th black and thereofre he had to sit in the side of the train where black people sat at, plessy refused to sit their which it turned into a huge problem.

- the court decided that racially seperate faculties, if equal, did not viloate the constitution. segregation, court said, was not discrimination.
- if equal, did not violate the constitution. segreation was not discrimination.
- what about the 13th and 14th amendments??
- Ferguson at the supereme court, arguing that the segregation law violated the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th amendment, as well as the 13th amendment that prohibited slavery.
- Plessy thought the 14th admendment was unfair and he thought he should be able to ride the same car as white people.
- This is so unfair!
- The court detained the law was constitutional. In opinion authored by Justice Henry Billings Brown, the majority upheld-state imposed racial segregation.
- The court decided to establish the rule called "seperate but equal".
