In 1754 the French army wanted to take over the American Indian's land, but the Indian's won't let that happen, and so the French and Indian begun.

In 1763 British started something called the British Imperial Policy. It was where British taxed a lot of stuff to recoup money from the French and Indian war.
Boston Tea Party
The Stamp Act was a act that said that colonists had to pay a tax or ever stamp they purchase from the government.
Signing the Declaration of Independence
Colonists felt they were being unfairly taxed. Colonists paid a lot in taxes, but had no representation in British parliament.
