Not many people know who I am, but I was born around 1743 and am currently enslaved; working on my way to become free being a successful farmer and plantation manager.

The year is now 1791, and as you can now probably tell, I am now free, managing my own land. Oh and I heard of this "Haitian Revolution" or something, you know, I might join, all enslaved shall be free. I also plan to prove being a skilled tactician, showing all my talent, uniting a diverse force of formerly enslaved people to fight against the French, Spanish, and British colonial powers, we are stronger together!!!

Year's now 1801, and thanks to me, foreign armies are now expelled, and have conquered the entire island of Hispaniola, and established a constitution that abolished slavery and named me governor-general for life. But heard about Napoleon's forces, and they don't seem too happy, I think they may capture me, maybe even deport me, I shall run. (1802). Oh lastly, groundwork for Haiti's declaration of independence will occur in 1804, making it the first free black republic in the world!!
