- The Beothuk had to compete for Newfoundland's inland resources against the British, because they cut off the Beothuk's access to the sea.
- The outskirts of the land ahead is all for Britain.
- The Beothuk were afraid of the newcomers and tried to avoid them. Sometimes that meant starving because they couldn't reach the fishing areas.
- I need food!!!
- We have to figure out what to do. Our people are starving
- Th British left for winter because the weather got to harsh for them.
- We have collected enough resources for the year.
- When the British left, the Beothuk raided fishing stations for steel hooks, ropes and other supplies.
- When the British got back they were furious to find that they had been robbed in resources by the Beothuk. The British then hunted the Beothuk with guns.
- Grab WHATEVER you can find men
- In 1828, there was only one Beothuk left. Shanawdithit. Sadly, she died from tuberculosis in 1829. That's when the Beothuk went extinct.
