The Giver (Aspen Beckius)

The Chief Elder is giving all of the Twelve's their assignments in the work force, but she skips Jonas. Being skipped is a mistake that almost never happens, so Jonas and his peers start to worry that he might've done something wrong. After she announces all oft he twelve's assignments, she apologizes and explains that Jonas was selected as the new receiver. Jonas is shocked by this news as is everyone else.
Skluzavka: 2
Jonas meets the giver/old receiver at the annex, as he was instructed to do. The giver gives Jonas his first memory by skin to skin contact. In the movie, he touches Jonas's arms, while in the book he tells Jonas to lay down and the Giver touches his back. Jonas's memories teach him words without them having to be taught to him.
Skluzavka: 3
Jonas learns about death from one of the memories given to him. He finds out that being released is just being put down, so he kidnaps Gabe in attempt to save him. At the end, Jonas saves everyone's memories but is left far away from the community and finds a cabin in the snow that he saw in his first memory given to him from the giver.
