  • Many female nurses took part in helping surgeons and surgeon mates by doing custodial work such as feeding and bathing patients, cleaning workstations, and cooking food. Often times, new inventions to help patients were made by female nurses.
  • Even though women were not allowed to fight in the Revolutionary War, many still joined disguised as men. Some women didn't disguise themselves or enlist in the military but helped fight on the streets. They risked their life and identity by fighting.
  • Many women who spied on British and American military worked as cooks and maids to disguise themselves. They eavesdropped on military tactics and next moves then communicated them to neighboring houses.
