- The quartering act of 1765 demanded that the colonies were required to house and give British soldiers what they need.
- If houses were too small, soldiers would be sent to local inns and hotels. The colonies were furious because they had to keep a solider in their home.
- Although they were mad, they had to follow the rules whether they liked it or not, because the soldiers were protecting them and they needed something back in return.
