- Helen of Troy was said to be one of the most beautiful women in the whole of Greece.
- She was carried off by Theseus but then she was rescued by her brothers.
- Helens suitors came from all over the world and from among them, she chose Menalaus.
- During an absence of Menelaus, however, Helen fled to Troy with Paris, son of the Trojan king Priam.
- Paris was slain, so Helen married Paris' brother, Deiphobus, whom she betrayed to Menelaus when Troy was subsequently captured.
- Menelaus and she then returned to Sparta where they lived happily until their deaths.
