The crosses are the dark skinned ruling class. They have access to money and good education. Although, the noughts( the white skinned people) fight for prejudice and are considered underclass.
Callum is a nought and Sephy is a cross. Having being friends since childhood. Growing older, both Sephy and Callum understood the segregated society they were dwelling in
A protest is staged where noughts are allowed to go to crosses school. Callum starts at Heathcroft high, entering with a lot of violence . Sephy tries to stop it however sephy gets beaten up by the girls so badly she has to stay offf from school.
Lynette, Callum's sister had died. It was said that she got hit by a bus. Only Callum knows that it was a suicide, as Lynette had left a secret note that talks of her depression after attack of her and her cross boyfriend.
Jude and Ryan join a terrorist group, which leads to planting a bomb in a place where Callum and Sephy will meet in. Ryan gets caught!
Callum leaves a note to Sephy asking her to meet him. When they meet the Liberation Militia ( his terrorist group) kidnap her. Calum is in charge. He then reveals they are in love and with no choice are going to run away. Despite the fact that Sephy is pregnant.
Sephy and Callum escape again but they get found and Callum is arrested .
Callum is executed and Sephy professes that she was not assaulted. She gives birth to their child and names it after Callum, Callie rose. Hoping for a less divide world
