- The Spaniards had arrived at the Incan empire at a bad time as Huayna Capac a powerful emperor had just died and the kingdom was divided into two sons Huascar and Atahuapla.
- A year later when they arrived, they plundered the city. The wealth was sent back to Panama and this persuaded the settlers to join Pizarro’s army.
- Civil war broke out between the two brothers. It was named The War of the Two Brothers. In the end Atahupla won between the brothers.
- After Atahualpa disagreed to join him Francisco killed him
- Once he was killed Francisco took over the Incan empire and brought down the empire.
