- Odysseus tells Polyphemus that his name is Nobohdy as a trick for later use.
- Nobohdy! Nobohdy has blinded me!
- Are you okay, Polyphemus? What ails you so?
- Odysseus tricks Polyphemus into getting drunk on wine, so that they can take him out safely.
- When Polyphemus' guard is down, Odysseus and his crew blind the monster with a hot wooden stake.
- When his friends ask what ails him, he says he was blinded by Nobohdy, so his friends leave, thinking nothing happened. A clever trick by Odysseus.
- Odysseus and his men escape with their lives on the bellies of Polyphemus' sheep so they won't be caught.
