  • It took centuries for decaying plants and other life-forms, buried under layers of soil and rock to become the carbon-rich resources we consider as fossil fuels.
  • As these plants and organisms die, they would sank to the bottom of swamps and oceans.
  • They began to decompose over layers of sand, clay, and other minerals over more than million of years.
  • Based on the mixture of organic matter, temperature, time, and pressure conditions, various types of fossil fuels produced during decomposition
  • Three kinds of fossil fuels have been created: coal, oil and natural gas. From ferns, plants, and trees that hardened, coal was made. The oil was produced from decomposing animals. With the same process as oil, natural gas was processed but subjected to more heat and pressure.
  • The world's most predominant energy source is fossil fuels. They have a range of applications for transporting fuels, such as electricity generation. All throughout history, these methods have mobilized civilizations.
