  • The fundamental freedoms include Freedom of conscience religion, thought expression, and peaceful assembly association. The freedom to religion is so important. Everyone has the rights to religion as long as it doesn't interfere with anyone else's rights.
  • legal rights
  • Democratic rights in canada include the right to vote. They are important as they insure you have the right to vote without discrimination. Women and men of all races, ethnicity, and regardless of physical ability can vote as long as they are a resident of Canada and are at minimum 18 years old and are registered to vote. Democratic rights are crucial for Canada. They also include when where and why a election can take place.
  • equality rights
  • Mobility rights include the rights Canadians have when moving between provinces or in/out of Canada. They also include rules concerning social services, social services, etc. Mobility rights are crucial because they help secure jobs and services for permanent residents of Canada.

  • Legal rights include life, liberty, and security of the person, Unreasonable search and seizure, Arbitrary detention or imprisonment, Rights when arrested, Rights when charged, Cruel and unusual punishment, and rights of witnesses in court. Legal rights are so important because without these rights you could be charged for bad reasons, you could be punished cruely. Overall legal rights keep our legal system running smoothly
  • In Canada we have equality rights. Equality rights are outlines in section 15 of the charter. 15(1) Outlines that every citizen is Equal. Everyone should have equal protection and benefit from the law without discrimination. 15(2) kind of counteracts 15(1) because it states that improvement programs made by the government may be put into place to help disadvantaged groups, even if its not helpful or discriminatory to the majority.

  • In Canada French and English have equal status in the government, and you have the right to education in either language. Your child may take French emersion if you speak French at home as a first language, have previous knowledge in the subject or you have another child who is in or already took French
