  • Do you see what I see? its Deer Mouses they are one of the quickest- evolving example of natural selection in animals.
  • Can you see me? Oh no I think one of us maybe lost I don't think I'm in a desert. anymore.
  • Deer Mouse is normally dark brown which is a good color for mice living in the woods and surrounding area allowing them to hide better and to avoid predators.
  • Where am I? Oh no I think I'm lost I don't think I'm in the woods or surrounding areas anymore.
  • Deer mouse that lives in the Sand Hills evolved into a much lighter sand like color, without this change the Deer Mouse would be easily spotted by predators against the area light terrain.
  • Just one single gene change for the mouse coat to become lighter. The change took only about 8,000 years which is the equivalent to seconds in the evolutionary scale.
