  • Climate change is heating the Earth and melting our ice! Now we don't have a home or any food!
  • Greenhouse gases like CO2 trap the Sun's heat in Earth's atmosphere, which is warming the planet and creating climate change. This is called The Greenhouse Effect.
  • CO2
  • Nonrenewable energy sources, such as coal, are being burned for energy. When these fossil fuels are burned, they release greenhouse gases. However, renewable resources, like solar panels, do not burn fossil fuels or release greenhouse gases. So, renewable resources can help to stop climate change.
  • Although they can be harmful, fossil fuels are humans' primary energy source. Burning coal gives off thermal and light energy, which a generator takes in and converts into electrical energy. Then this electrical energy is given to us to power our homes and other items. Many energy transformations take place in order to get energy from fossil fuels.
  • Hot air rising
  • Cool air sinking
  • The sun gives off heat to Earth through the process of radiation. Then, the warm air rises and the cool air sinks, spreading the heat throughout Earth through the process of convection. These are just some examples of heat transfers that occur to warm the planet.
  • There are multiple solutions to global warming like preventing, undoing, and adapting to it. We can prevent Earth's temperature from rising even more by using renewable resources, like solar panels. We can also undo climate change by planting more trees to absorb all the excess CO2 in the air through photosynthesis. And lastly, we can adapt to climate change by building more dams to protect out cities from the intense weather conditions that come with climate change.
