- On a nice pleasant day, we are introduced to Miss Adela Strangeworth, an old lady, who lives in an immaculate house surrounded by beautiful roses.
- Turning Point (Climax)
- Although Miss Strangeworth may seem nice and caring on the outside, she is actually evil and mischievous. She writes anonymous letters that create suspicion and worry among the townspeople.
- Falling Action
- After finishing her errands and interacting with some of the townspeople, she goes home, rests, writes more anonymous letters which she takes to the post box.
- Resolution (Denouement)
- She accidentally drops one of the letters. The Harris boy finds it, reads it, and understands that she is the cause of all the suspicions and and evil in the town.
- The next day, Miss Strangeworth finds her opened letter inside the foyer of her house. She understands that her secret has been revealed.
- The story concludes with her receiving just punishment. All her bad deeds resulted in bad karma coming back to her. She lost what she loved most, her precious roses.
