- manuel the gardener has a gambling problem so he steels Buck and sells him to get money.
- Buck gets sold to the man in the red sweater and gets treated badly.
- The man in the red sweater sells buck to Perrault and Francois who treat him fairly and they take a boat to Canada.
- Buck is in Canada with the other sled dogs then curly gets killed by the other dogs.
- Buck learns to adapt to his new life as a sled dog and He learns how he needs to survive.
