- After the wedding Egeus has a plan that was inspired by the previous wedding of theseus and hippolyta's . and wants his daughter Hermia to marry Demetrius.

- I have to marry Demetrius
- Egeus informs Theseus of his idea of Demetrius and Hermia getting married, But hermia has other ideas.

- Hermia and Lysander meet and she tells him about her dad's order. They are distraught and plan to run away together to marry in secret.
- Before she leaves, Hermia goes to Helena, her best friend, and tells her about the plan to run away with Lysander. Helena is secretly happy - she thinks that she now has a chance to marry Demetrius herself.
- What's wrong
- At nightfall, Hermia and Lysander meet in the woods and begin their journey. Meanwhile, Helena is telling Demetrius that Hermia has run away.
