- Brandy, please ask before you hug me I do not want to be hugged right now.
- Hi Casey, I am so happy to see you, I am going to hug you.
- Brandy and Cassie are Friends walking to class. Brandy is Autistic and is learning about body boundaries. Brandy is excited to see Casey but Casey has a body boundary and tell's Casey.
- Glisser: 2
- Brandy, sometimes people need personal space. Asking before toughing someone allows them to say yes or no
- I see. Sometimes I do not want to be touched by others. I have the right to say yes or no when people ask me
- Casey explains her body boundary to Brandy. Casey lets Brandy know that people ask for consent before touching others. Brandy understands that she does not always want to be touched by others and wants to give consent for her own body.
- Glisser: 3
- No thank you, I do not want a hug right now.
- Am I able to give you a hug now?
- That's okay, I understand you do not want a hug right now.
- Brandy tries asking Casey for consent to hug her. Casey says no thank you. Brandy understands that she cannot hug Casey right now.
