- Progressives were at the height of their power before WW1, and many saw the conflict as the perfect opportunity to expand their influence abroad. Americans, especially veterans, weren't happy to have been drafted into the Progressive Crusade. Naturally, the Progressives lost popularity after the treaties ending the war didn't even reflect Progressive goals

- Progressives had also successfully fought to ban Alcohol in the United States. The goal was to bring morality back to the United States, yet this would blow up in the Prohibitionists' faces. Prohibition had resulted in the birth of a criminal empire centered around alcohol, with everyday citizens gladly participating. The act would eventually be repealed, after its failure had become shockingly clear.

- Women's rights would be one of the greatest victories of the Progressive movement, yet it too backfired in a way. Women would secure suffrage after taking over many of the jobs men typically held during the Great War. However, the political bloc of suffragettes that had formed to earn women the vote fractured after it had accomplished its goal, leading to women largely integrating into other existing political blocs.
- Now that we have equality for women, we can work towards equality between races!
- What?! Now, don't be ridiculous.
