Once Aphrodite heard about Psyche's beauty he summoned his son Eros and told him to put spell on Psyche.

A king and Queen have 3 beautiful daughters but one of them has an absolute beauty. Psyche was the most beautiful among her sister's princesses in the Grecian Kingdom. And because of that people forgot to worship Aphrodite.
Eros then flew down to earth with 2 vials of potion and start to target the sleepng Psyche where in he sprinkled a potion that would make man avoid her and there shall be no marriage happen
As Eros put spell on Psyche he accidentally pricked Psyche one of his arrows that could make her deeply fall in love.

Psyche was startled as Eros accidentally pricked her and Eros was captivated by the beauty of Psyche so he accidentally pricked himself as well.
Eros felt bad for what he had done so he provides joy in Psyche's life. But Psyche was still beautiful the only reason is he could not find any husband and so she asked the oracle to reveal her future husband and there was a monster at the top of the mountain.
