- Montressor is the guy who wants to kill Fortunato. It takes place during the carnival season.
- Climax
- Montressor leads him to his house and takes him to the archway that leads to the vaults.
- Falling Action
- Both are looking at the walls and examining them Montresssor knocks the neck off a bottle of wine to drink and gives it to Fortunato. Montressor takes him to the deep crypt and niche.
- Resolution
- Montressor chains Fortunato to the wall and begans to build a wall to seal him in.
- Fortunato gets sober and realizes whats going on so montressor stabs him. Fortunato starts laughing like a crazy man.
- Montressor forced the last stone into its position. Fortunato isn't found for 50 years.
