- A Suspenseful Hunt
- While the hunter, Rainsford, is on a yacht on his way to the Amazon, he hears gunshots and leaps onto the rails to observe. He then drops his pipe and falls into the water trying to get it back.
- Route to Survival
- After Rainsford swims for a while, he sees an island called "Ship Trap Island" where he comes across a big house with Ivan and General Zaroff. Rainsford is taken in and eats and talks with General Zaroff. Unfortunately for Rainsford, he finds out he needs to play a game where he is hunted by the experienced General Zaroff.
- En Garde!
- The rules of the game are that Rainsford is given some supplies and has to survive for 3 days on the island in order to win. During those 3 days, Rainsford is being hunted by the general with a gun, and Ivan with hounds to support the general. Rainsford tries to keep distance and sets multiplet traps.
- Relaxed at Last
- Rainsford has now killed Ivan with one of his traps. Some time after that, the hounds are getting closer and closer to Rainsford. Rainsford finds that he has no more space to run, and figures that the only way out of that situation was to jump into the water.
- After Rainsford escaped, he swam to General Zaroff's house and hid there. When General Zaroff came in, he was surprised and congratulated Rainsford that he had won the game. But Rainsford explains how he is still a beast at bay, and the two men duel.
- Rainsford has not only won the game, but he also won the duel afterwards against General Zaroff. General Zaroff is now gone, and Rainsford is now free. He now gets to sleep in this comfortable bed at last.
