- 1. The parent and infant are put into a room
- 2.The parent and infant are left alone in the room, the parent sits down while the child is playing.
- 3. A stranger enters the room, talks to the parent and starts to slowly approach the baby.
- 4. The parent leaves the room quietly. The stranger starts to interact with the baby; they are either playing or comforting them, depending on how the baby reacts.
- 5.The parent returns, approaches the infant, begins to comfort the infant if needed, and the stranger leaves.
- 6.The parent leaves once again, leaving the infant alone.
