- ATOMS!!!
- Today we will be learning all about atoms! Look around the room list some of the objects and people you can see. Did you know that all of those things are made of atoms?
- Glisser: 2
- Have you ever seen a table like this before? All the boxes on this chart represent elements. elements are made up of atoms and different combinations of elements create the different materials that make up the things around you.
- Glisser: 3
- Think of a block tower just like Tommy's here. The whole tower is made up of smaller building blocks Just like everything around us is made of smaller bits called atoms.
- Glisser: 4
- Atoms are mad up of three parts. There are positive protons (blue), Neutral Neutrons (red), and much smaller, Negative electrons (yellow)
- Glisser: 5
- If you were able to see atoms, in every atom you would see the protons and neutrons of the atom hug super close in the middle while the electrons travel around and around them, kind of like these girls are doing here.
- Glisser: 6
- How small are atoms really though? There so small that even the tiniest little baby, like this one here, is made up trillions and trillions of atoms.
