  • The proclamation was issued by the Britishat the end of the French and Indian War. Itwas established to create boundaries forSettlers. West of the proclamation line is controlled by the military.

  • The goal of the Sugar Tax was to end the trade smuggling of various condiments. They began increasing the taxes on the sugar goods until the colonists finally had enough. The colonists were upset and began protesting but it didn't help much.

  • This law became about because the government needed a way to raise money for Britain. This tax was enforced on stamps, newspapers, legal documents, and more. The colonists didn't like this tax especially because they felt it was them neglecting their rights.

  • The Townshend Acts was the tax on all imported goods. This included taxing paint, glass, tea, and more. These actions made the colonists more furious because their rights were still being neglected.

  • Paul Revere and Samuel Adams lead the patriots into this confrontation. British soldiers shot and killed multiple people in a mob on March 5,1770. The Boston Massacre was caused by the Townshend Acts.

  • The Sons of Liberty protested British Parliaments tax on tea. They dumped 342 chests of tea into the water. This caused a ruckus throughout all 13 colonies.
