- Hush a minute Scout
- Jem and Scout are walking home from the pageant when Jem said he heard something. It was completely black outside so they could not see anything or anyone. Page 298
- Glisser: 2
- *barking*
- Heard an old dog just then,
- Jem and Scout continue walking when Jem hears something again. Scout convinces him he's just a little spooked and its nothing. Page 299
- Glisser: 3
- A man come up to Jem and Scout and attacks them with a kitchen knife. Luckily Scouts costume saved her from being stabbed. Page 300
- Glisser: 4
- Here she is
- I'm all right, Aunty.You better call.
- Scout sees someone carrying Jem and follows them to her house. Atticus and Aunt Alexandra meet them at the door before calling a doctor. Page 302
- Glisser: 5
- He can't hear you, Scout, he's out like a light. He was coming around, but Dr. Reynolds put him out again.
- Scout goes to see Jem in his room but Dr. Reynolds gave him sleeping medicine so he wouldn't feel the pain. Page 304
- Glisser: 6
- Heck Tate goes back to the scene where Jem and Scout were attacked. He finds Bob Ewell laying under the tree with a knife in his ribs, dead. Page 305
- Glisser: 0
- Thought I heard something... Stop a minute.
- Jem you don't hafta-
- Jem...?
- It's not that,... I hear it when we're walkin' along, but when we stop I don't hear it.
- You hear my costume rustlin'. Aw, It's just Halloween got you...
- Bob Ewell's lyin' on the ground under that tree down yonder with a kitchen knife stuck up under his ribs. He's dead Mr. Finch.
- Run, Scout! Run! Run!
- Jem, Jem, help me, Jem!
- Call Dr. Reynolds!Where's Scout?
